Presented by Naoki Hamaguchi, the new video served as another reminder that the game is scheduled for release in Spring 2027. The Switch 2 version was also mentioned; while this information was previously known, its re-emphasis on stage caught attention.

The trailer showcased massive threats such as Ruby Weapon, Emerald Weapon, and Ultima Weapon. Viewers were treated to a fast-paced montage featuring party members battling colorful enemies, parachuting, riding chocobos, and attacking monsters with missiles. It was a visually delightful presentation, though it may have felt a bit light for those expecting a major new reveal.

The Witcher 3: Remastered Edition

CD Projekt Red announced The Witcher 3: Remastered Edition at Gamescom 2026. The new version comes packed with numerous additions, including overhauled visuals, an improved combat system, better traversal feel, enhanced horseback riding, updated monsters, a reworked skill tree, a transmog system, and a photo mode.

The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past

Gamescom 2026 concluded with The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past. The first brief look shown for the new expansion takes place in a bizarre and twisted forest region. The chain on Geralt’s arm drew particular attention. It was mentioned that this chain is connected to the idea of passing the torch to Ciri. It was explained that the new region appears peaceful and almost fairytale-like on the surface, but hides a dark secret underneath. This tone evokes the feel of Toussaint from Blood and Wine, but it is clear that a much more unsettling atmosphere will be established here.
