Introduction
The Blood of Dawnwalker, developed by Rebel Wolves, heavily emphasizes open progression and granular narrative choices. The combat utilizes a directional attacking and blocking system similar to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, though faster-paced.
The game’s core mechanic is an in-game time system. Every day is divided into 16 blocks (8 day, 8 night). Time does not advance automatically; it is spent like currency when completing quests, buying skills, and making dialogue choices. Your primary goal is to complete the story in under 30 in-game days to save Coen’s family and unlock In the Nick of Time. After achieving the endings, you can exceed the 30-day limit to finish remaining side activities.
Missables Warning: Do not kill non-hostile NPCs or quest givers, as this will permanently lock you out of their respective quests. Use your 54 manual save slots generously—ideally saving in a new slot every in-game day, before/after bosses, and after the Prologue. The game does not autosave during free-roam, so Quicksave frequently before combat to avoid losing progress.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Step 1: Start on Duelist Difficulty and Complete the Prologue
Begin your playthrough on Duelist difficulty to ensure you qualify for Uphill Battle. Play through the Prologue until you reach the open world.
- Crucial Choice: During the Prologue quest Withering Away, make the correct medicine for your mother, Esme, using hot water and three spoonfuls of herbs. Failing to complete this quest before time runs out will result in her death.
Step 2: Unfog the Map and Complete Open World Activities
Once the open world is available, prioritize leveling up, as enemies on Duelist difficulty will initially easily overpower you.
- Mobility Skills: Purchase Shapeshift (Vampirism) and Mercurial Fervor (Witchcraft) from the bottom right of the skill trees. With no rideable mounts, transforming into a wolf at night is your primary high-speed travel method.
- Map Towers: At night, utilize your Shadowstep vampirism skill to climb the 11 Towers. This will reveal all Points of Interest (“?” icons) on the map.
- Leveling: Complete POIs (Monster Lairs, Persons in Danger, Soldier Camps, Bandit Camps, Ancient Circles) in the northern half of the map. Avoid southern regions marked with red skulls until you are stronger.
- Time Management: Aim to reach Level 20 while staying under 15 in-game days. Ignore side quests for now to conserve time and prevent accidental quest failures.
Step 3: Finish Court Activities and Defeat the 3 Main Bosses
To save your family within the 30-day limit, complete the Court Activities assigned by the three main bosses (Ambrus, Bakir, Xanthe).
- Monitor your progress in the “Court” menu. Completing roughly 75% of a boss’s activities maxes out their anger, triggering their specific boss fight quest.
- This step takes 7–10 in-game days. Aim to clear the bosses by day 22 to leave breathing room for ending-related side quests.
- Note: The trophy Together Forever is highly missable during Xanthe’s activity Home Sweet Home. Because it is extremely difficult on Duelist, ignore it for now. You will return to it later on a lower difficulty.
Step 4: The Turncoat Ending (Duelist Difficulty)
Defeating all three bosses maximizes your Infamy. Skip time to the next day to trigger the Infamy Edicts cutscene, followed by a message from Brencis initiating the final quest, A Deal with the Devil.
- CRITICAL: Make a manual save before starting this quest. Do not overwrite it.
- Agree to Brencis’s deal to betray your allies. This unlocks The Turncoat ending, completely skipping the final boss fight and easily securing your Duelist difficulty completion.
Step 5: Lower Difficulty and Complete Remaining Endings
Reload the manual save you made before A Deal with the Devil. Now that you have secured the difficulty-specific trophy, drop the game difficulty to “Story.” Complete the side questlines for Lacra and Crake to set up and unlock all remaining alternate endings.
Step 6: Reach Level 50 & Purchase Ultimate Perks
Reload your pre-ending save one last time and continue playing past the 30-day limit. Clean up all remaining side content to hit Level 50.
- Skill Point Management: You cannot max out every skill tree in a single playthrough. It costs 39 Skill Points to acquire an Ultimate Perk (35 for prerequisite skills + 4 for the perk).
- Save your available points, make a manual save, and fully upgrade one tree to unlock Master of Arms or Arch Warlock. Reload the save, and spend the points on the opposite tree to unlock the other. Note that you must locate the specific Manuals in the open world to make these perks available for purchase.
